Lorain police release body camera footage of Oct. 7 police shooting

LORAIN, Ohio (News 5 Cleveland): Lorain police have released body camera footage of an officer-involved shooting that occurred just after midnight on October 7. Officers responded to a report of a vehicle break-in, with the suspect, 26-year-old Dustin Terry, allegedly armed. After failing to comply with commands and attempting to flee, Officer Isaiah Taylor deployed a Taser, which was ineffective. Terry was then seen running with a gun in his hand and turning toward officers, prompting Taylor to fire five shots, hitting Terry four times.

Terry survived and was taken to the hospital, later being arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated robbery and resisting arrest. He was also wanted on an active warrant for failure to appear in court. An independent investigation is underway, and the Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case.
